Orient Express releases anniversary film

International hotel, river cruise and rail company Orient Express is homaging its past. Marking its 140th anniversary on Oct. 4, 2023, the organization is out with “Beyond a World of Dreams,” a minute-long film that captures the golden age of travel through the lens of the brand. The effort serves to celebrate the luxury hospitality giant's growing ecosystem, from forthcoming train launches to an established collection of luxury hotels, as well as Orient Express Silenseas, the world’s largest sailing ship, deploying in 2026.

Belmond to host round two of Pride-themed rail expedition

LVMH-owned hospitality group Belmond is facilitating a queer-friendly voyage from Paris to Venice aboard the Orient Express. Slated for the fall, the company is presenting its second-annual Travel with Pride trip itinerary, featuring a lineup of celebrity performers including American DJ Honey Dijon and German music producer Purple Disco Machine. Belmond's entertainment-forward Venice Simplon-Orient-Express adventure will benefit British charity Not A Phase, which supports trans and non-gender-conforming adults via community efforts.

Orient Express lends locomotive to 'Mission: Impossible' crew

International hotel, river cruise and rail company Orient Express is stealing the show on the silver screen. For the newly-released blockbuster, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, the company built a replica of its historic, art deco-era trains. Orient Express is taking viewers behind the scenes in a new activation, showing off technical know-how and creative spirit just in time for the film’s premiere. “The Mission: Impossible team has taken the use of trains as locations to a whole new level,” said Simon Pielow, cofounder of Luxury Train Club, Swindon. “We have enjoyed for some years providing trains, carriages, and rail facilities such as stations for movies and more, but we acknowledge that Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning has hugely raised the bar!”

Cunard taps rail trend, offers luxury trip extensions by train

British cruise line Cunard is once again tapping into the appeal of sojourns by rail, this time in partnership with Vancouver-based luxury scenic train company Rocky Mountaineer. Passengers aboard Cunard's Queen Elizabeth ship, which sails through Alaska, now have the option to extend their expedition in one of two ways. Travelers can either book a three-night train ride after the fact, or a four-night rail excursion ahead of hitting the sea — both packages enable guests to experience a wide variety of terrains and landscapes.
